Dear wild ones,
I don’t think I’ve shared this part of my story this openly before.
Because from the outside… it didn’t always look like a problem.
I was high-functioning.
Honours university student.
Working full-time.
Paying my own way.
Building a career.
And also?
Self-destructive… Binge drug use, 3-day parties, inability to stop.
There’s a kind of addiction that hides behind achievement.
That gets normalized. Even praised.
Because if you’re “doing well”… no one asks deeper questions.
Episode 06 of The Wild Wisdom Way Podcast is now live — and this one is personal.
In this episode, I’m speaking honestly about:
• High-functioning addiction and the patterns that often go unseen
• Using substances to access connection, freedom, and aliveness
• The crash… anxiety, depletion, and nervous system burnout
• The myth that success means you’re okay
• What happens when your body can’t keep up with your lifestyle anymore
And the turning point…
When I found something that gave me the same sense of freedom, connection, and bliss, without the aftermath.
Yoga.
Not just as movement, but as a way to feel fully alive in my body… without needing to escape it.
This conversation isn’t about shame or labels.
It’s about honesty.
Awareness.
And finding a more sustainable way to feel good.
If you’ve ever questioned your relationship with substances, success, or the constant chase for a “high”… this episode will land.
This is part of the story that changed everything for me.
