1. Movement to Awaken the Body
Get your body moving with some gentle stretches, or a short yoga sequence. Heck, feel free to jump up and down a few times while swinging your arms, or shake your body from the ground up. You don't need hours to spare. A little goes a long way!
Moving your body first thing in the morning can increase blood flow, give stagnation the boot, and energize you for the day ahead.
2. Singing for the Soul
Whether you consider yourself a singer or you just love to hum a tune, singing can uplift your spirit and set a positive tone for the day. It can also create sweet space in a mind that's far too full of to-do's, and help you tune in (pun intended!) to your emotional undercurrents.
Belt out your favourite song or simply hum a soothing melody while you get ready.
3. Mantra Meditation
Take a few moments to sit quietly and recite a mantra that resonates with you. Perhaps repeating something as simply profound as 'SO HUM' (sanskrit: 'I am that; pure awareness'), or 'OM' (the primordial sound of all that is/ was/ is yet to be). Or maybe your own affirming words, like 'I am worthy' or 'I am ready to shine'.
Mantras are powerful tools for focusing the mind, promoting inner peace, and cultivating a sense of empowerment.
4. Mindful Breathing
Conscious breathing is a simple yet profound practice that can help you stay present and calm throughout the day. Close the eyes if it feels good. Place one hand on your chest and the other on the belly. Take a few deep breaths, through the nose, focusing on the sensations of your belly and chest expanding with the inhale, and contracting with the exhale. Explore lengthening each exhale, slowly releasing. Allow a little pause at the bottom of the exhale, and the top of the inhale.
Notice what it feels like ot become intimate with the feeling of your breathing body.
5. Gratitude Journaling
Start your day by jotting down a few things you're grateful for. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude can shift your perspective and invite more positivity into your life. I'm willing to bet that you can find at least 5 things you're grateful for every morning, even if you wake with a sense of dread or fatigue.

6. Nature Connection
Step outside for a few moments to connect with nature. Breathe in the fresh air, feel the sun on your skin, dance in the rain, hug a tree, smell a flower, listen to the bird songs, or simply admire the beauty of the natural world around you (and within you).
This kind of medicine is free and readily available, no matter the season!
7. Hydration
Before reaching for that cup of coffee, remember to rehydrate your body with a full glass of water. Add a big squeeze of lemon/lime or a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar for alkalizing benefits. Want to kick it up a notch? Add a scoop of nutrient dense greens like spirulina, chlorella, moringa, wheatgrass or another fav!
With your fluids flowing optimally, and your digestive system primed for success, you'll help kickstart your system to receive the energy you need to tackle the day ahead.
